Scholarship holder exhibitions can hardly be based on curatorial concepts, not least because the selection of artists inevitably results from the choice of a jury responsible for the scholarship. However, this circumstance sometimes has the quality that this potpourri makes it possible to read the current trends in the art world. This is precisely the case with the exhibition ‘Caught in a Landslide’, which can be seen simultaneously at Berlin's n.b.k.and the KINDL - Centre for Contemporary Art. (...) The fact that this year's exhibition is taking place in two renowned art venues in Berlin does it a world of good.

'Caught in a Landslide' makes clear that uncertainty is not just an external force but a state woven into lived experience, highlighting precarity as something that permeates both the personal and the collective. In Berlin, where cultural institutions face budget cuts and the future of its artistic landscape feels increasingly unstable, these themes take on an added weight. Yet rather than framing uncertainty as something to be overcome, the exhibition acknowledges it as a persisting condition – one that is neither inherently hopeful nor hopeless, but simply a fundamental part of life.
