In times of polycrisis, the acute experience of a continuous state of exception leads to a confusing and frustrating condition, characterised by an inadequacy of language and other forms of connective possibility and contextualisation. Iliggocene – The Age of Dizziness proposes artistic positions that seek new vocabularies for these states of dizziness.

Forecast (LX23)
Performance by Ari Benjamin Meyers for actress and three guitars.
With Laura Eichten, Heidi Goldsmith, Carsten Hein, Jan Terstegen and Ari Benjamin Meyers.
Further support provided by Esther Schipper, Berlin / Paris / Seoul.

In his intimate yet intense performance, Ari Benjamin Meyers engages with codes of power and control. Using weather as a point of departure, he explores predictability—and its limits—as well as the human drive for forecasts, progress, and mastery over the planet. Forecast (LX23) is scored for two electric guitars, electric bass, and performer. Over the course of an hour, the performers navigate a dense interplay of music and text, requiring sustained physical and mental focus.
