The group exhibition explores the relationships and entanglements between human and non-human life. How our existence depends on all other living beings on this planet – on those who produce the air we breathe, the food we eat and the materials essential to life. Photographic works, videos, and objects present moments of contact, care, and desire between the different inhabitants of Earth, or ‘planetmates,’ as biologist Lynn Margulis put it.

An Intimacy with Strangers at the Kindl in Berlin reveals a touching closeness between humans and non-human beings, without which we – whether consciously or unconsciously – would not be able to survive
Miriam Wiesel, kunstbulletin, 06/2026

Both exhibitions are strikingly understated in their design, which serves the content well.
[Beide Ausstellungen sind auffällig zurückhaltend gestaltet. Das tut den Inhalten gut.]
Claudia Wahjudi, tib-berlin.de, 26.3.2026

A harmonious and interesting complement to Simon Faithfull’s own works, which explore nature and the question: ‘How are we connected to one another, and how can we live out this connection more fully?’.
