Not two, not one (2026)
Live Performance by Daniel Meir at the Sudhaus
18.7., 20:00

Free admission

In this live site-specific sound installation, Daniel Meir activates four of the original brewing coppers. Sounds recorded in a working brewery are fed into the vats and transformed by their resonance, creating drones and rhythmic beats.

The work takes its name from the Zen concept “not two, not one” – the idea that things are neither fully separate nor fully the same. The sound that emerges belongs neither solely to the recording nor to the vats, but emerges through the interplay of both. The room shapes the sound, and the sound shapes the room. At the same time, each visitor’s position creates a unique personal mix. Like a finger circling the rim of a wineglass, the installation comes into being only through the living encounter of sound, structure, and body.
