Tatjana Doll

Was heißt Untergrund?

Maschinenhaus M2

In her engagement with painting, Tatjana Doll (* 1970 in Burgsteinfurt, lives in Berlin) points far beyond the conventional boundaries of her chosen medium. An essential aspect of her work is the exploration of the socio-political contexts of her subjects, which she translates into large-scale enamel and oil paintings in a direct, quick, and sometimes raw painting style. The selected works shown at the KINDL exude a feeling of unrest, threat, and danger that is evident in the various subtexts of the works.

A poster edition of Kopfalphabet will be published alongside the exhibition in an edition of 200, 20 of which will be signed.

Curated by Kathrin Becker.

In painting, Doll performs an unwinding of familiar subjects to make the world visible anew.

Even without planes and cars, Doll's paintings fit perfectly into the industrial architecture of the old brewery.[
Auch ohne Flugzeuge und Autos passen Dolls Gemälde interessanterweise perfekt in die Industriearchitektur der alten Brauerei.]
